A few examples of commercial screen printing Work c

Peel Back  work 1998

you can bury me here.

2009/10?..the supplied artwork wasn't great for this one...Nic ,in the art room ,came out scratching his head..he had out- put the films from the company, but already knew , colour separation couldn't be improved on.and that was the critical  aspect..If it aint' right to start with it wasn't going to make any difference to how well we could print this one. It was a good example  of working as a team ..(.and the last job before Christmas that year i note..) and such a nice job too ,in many ways..(Prokofiev..I was happily introduced to the orchestra by him as a young person)  the moral of the story was ...?

In 17 years of commercial Screen Printing this is still my one of my favorite print jobs.about 500 of them..maybe more...whatever happened to The Darkness? What happened to The Thrills??Fickle music business.

making stencils.. maybe 60,000 screens..not a picture of me actually .. i kept my stencil dept a lot cleaner ..but alas no photo available of myself in action :)

Tee Shirt

Ace .. the design house in London that we  had strong links with  i took samples for the King Kong remake film around this time..i was listening to to Peanut Butter Wolf  Tale of Two Cities e.p artwork landed on my desk..one of the few tees from work that i printed one for myself....shame we only had black in our own stock that i could scrounge...
A well worn tee ..John is a fan and getting pestered for freebies is  a tee shirt printers  common headache..no  is often the answer ..i've got 6 jobs on today..its just a bleeding tee shirt....but its nice to print something that looks good not just advertising for i dunno crappy drinks company or sat nav devices or run o - the mill stuff...

Large Format Digital Varsa Camm print 2012 ..onto 6 meter pop up tents ..went to the regiment in Cyprus apparently.
Large format Cad Cut onto Nylon tents..using Xpress

Tee Shirt

"when do they want them ?1000 by 4 0'clock today..as well as  the other  seven jobs on the bench...?!"

i carn't tell you how much work we did for this company..so many that i had to re-make the screens due to then wearing out after many hundreds of prints over a couple of months solid 24 hour full speed printing...

Nice Stencils Nice Ink Mixing.Royal Albert Hall?Another Make ready  Scrappper..you may notice  print on the other side of the shirt  which was for Nintendo Ds..we sure did have a great client base...

Transfer printing..only found this strip tucked away in my stamp album the other day..but reverse transfers is a really lovely method of getting print onto fabrics...

I dont have enough record of my time undersurface printing..but this is from my time at either K.S.P. oR  Banbury Nameplate..both good little companies..for tooling or torque tools...next stop platten cutting...

Tools of the Trade...Banbury Nameplates.2008?Nice to see the old 'Job Bags' on the right...Nameplates have been in business a long time and i only worked there as a stop gap for just over a year..but my 10 years at Print Tec..personal archive of job bags number  over 12 thousand

Smells good ...smells of regular earning wages...smells of print workshop.Almost as good as the smell of U.V.varnish..ahhh.....unlike the Dye Sublimation chemicals and inks i had a brief time with...supposedly eco friendly  but i used to horror at the toxic stench  of them when dried....

Great Stencil making ... good examples of spot process work and 'Gully' registration.. superb  printing skills on this one..Just to say that working as a printer has been rewarding in many ways.
Mick Jagger with a Gibson Casino i think.. This is a make ready set up .The company are so tight with letting us have shirts and printing for our own use so i grab what i can..this shirt probably had set up all over it hence the fact that i cut it out ...but that's cool just to keep some kind of record...yeah man!
Cad Cut ..supplied artwork..Metallic Vinyl onto Nylon Gazebo ..Sized..outlined ..reversed  ..weeded...and pressed by me 2012
