Lino Cut Speedball Archive Waterbased Ink .Sept. 2012.
Having made the first press without inking up thoroughly(here on the right) i really liked the feel of the portrait but had obvious mottled finish..when i pressed the darker more inked up piece,although it had a better finish ..somehow the actual personality seemed less..it goes to show that so often the first press has an immediacy and therefore everything must be done to make sure that everything is in place..Also i may add that this is my third lino image and i recognise a positive move forward in technique...but also feel i have miles to go ...there is nothing like just getting on and making images to keep skills moving along and intuitive decision making just takes leaps and bounds.
